In this session, I set out to design a weird, gigantic creature that looks like it’s been washed ashore… a mix between a whale and a squid.
The focus of the stream was to share tips, tricks, and techniques for quickly setting up ideas in ZBrush without relying on symmetry.I started by using Dynamics to block out a rough blobby form for the body, then moved into curve brushes to create tentacles and gave them different flows and overlaps.
Along the way, I also built a custom IMM brush to add extra detail and speed up the process. The whole stream was about experimenting, improvising, and showing how to push a concept forward in ZBrush with a flexible, idea-driven workflow.
