Quick tip to render with ZBrush compositor and marmoset

This tip is a very cool way to polish and render any sculpture using ZBrush and Marmoset. I've sent a few tips about the ZBrush compositor in the past but I thought I share another one... The ZBrush Compositor is a free plugin for ZBrush and it allows you to use 3D Painter or Marmoset to render an image (from the camera you choose in ZBrush) using only BPR renders to 'fake' the depth of the model.

Quick tip to render with ZBrush compositor and marmoset

All you have to do is frame your sculpture, open up the ZBrush Compositor, and select 'Create Toolbag Composite'

This will send a series of BPR passes and a simple UV plane into Marmoset Toolbag that looks exactly like the mesh in ZBrush.

Once in marmoset, you can take advantage of all the cool rendering tools to produce a more appealing render for your 3D sketches...

This is a super quick and powerful way to produce concepts without the need of exporting complex meshes or even having UVs on the mesh. Ultimately what the ZBrush Compositor produces is a series of maps, including the Depth of the mesh to displace a low res plane.
