The GIO brush!

Alright, a cool new brush for ZBrush that I’ve called ‘The GIO brush - soft forms’ and it is obviously inspired by my friend Gio Napkil and the amazing control he has over volumes in 3D.

The GIO brush!

Basically I designed this new brush to help you define soft forms and anatomy with a lot of controlled. I works really well to define muscles and crevices while gradually pinching the volumes together. So it is ultimately a more controlled alternative to the Dam_Standard brush for example. The idea is that you can use a large brush and the first stroke creates a subtle crevice while keeping the soft forms around it:

But you can also press a bit harder on your tablet and go over the same stroke a couple of times to increase the strength or depth of the crevices and pinch the surrounding volumes a bit more:

I create this brush about 3 weeks ago and I’ve been playing with it for the past few days and it has become my new go-to brush to define soft forms and Gio is cool with me calling it the ‘Gio brush’ haha so it is now up on the ZBGs website for you to download it!

Just head over to the General Sculpting brushes section under the resources and click on the first icon you see on the list of brushes:
